    just a very small question
    7
    7

    - you said "I am understand", which is wrong you can't use 2 verbs in one sentence. -= It should be "I understand".

can I say ( I understood ) or its better to say understand ? :114:

( I mean in the same sentence which Rasid said )

In the past When I was young I was like played football , usualy I and my friend go together to stadum , But Now I can't play football becuase I have family I haven't time enough , I bought equipment I put it in home for making exercise

In this paragraph, I see mistakes that you can easily avoid if you just focus on them a little bit. There're some spelling mistakes. Also, there're grammatical mistakes.

1- "I was liked football" is a wrong phrase, you should say "I liked football".

2- "I have family I haven't time enough" is also a wrong phrase, you should say "I have a family. Therefore, I don't have enough time".

3- "For making exercise" is wrong as well, we don't make exercise, we DO or PRACTICE exercise.

However, I have re-wrote your paragraph on my own way:

"In the past, when I was young, I really loved playing football. My friend and I used to go together to the stadium, but I don't go anymore because I have a family to look after. Due to such circumstances, I bought some sport-equipments for practicing excersise".

    Thanks sister..

Both are correct. "Understood" in the past, "Understand" indicates the present, which means I now understand you.
But it's better (for me) to say, I understand.

    [blink][ Lesson Number 4 ][/blink]

[LEFT]Our lesson for today is a completion to the previous verb tenses, we will be discussing the Past Simple tense and the Past continuous tense. If there's something not clear, please don't hesitate to ask..

    FORM Simple Past

    [ VERB + ed]

    EXAMPLES:

    I visited my friends.

[blink]NOTE:[/blink] When you are using a verb tense with only one part such as Simple Past (visited), adverbs usually come before the verb (often visited). Please remember this is different from verbs with more than one part such as Present Continuous.

    For example:

    I often visited my friends.

It is used to express an action that happened and finished in a specific time, take a look at the picture:

    When we use it?

Use the Simple Past to express the idea that an action started and finished at a specific time in the past. Sometimes the speaker may not actually mention the specific time, but they do have one specific time in mind.

    EXAMPLES:

    I saw a movie yesterday.

    I didn't see a movie yesterday.

Last year, I traveled to Japan.

Last year, I didn't travel to Japan.

    [line]
    [line]

    FORM Past Continuous

    [WAS or WERE] + [VERB+ing]

    EXAMPLES:

I was studying when she called.

    Past continuous use:

The past continuous describes actions or events in a time before now, which began in the past and was still going on at the time of speaking. In other words, it expresses an unfinished or incomplete action in the past.

    It is used:

1- to describe an non-finished action that was interrupted by another event or action.

For example: "I was having a beautiful dream when my mother woke me up."

2- to express a change of mind:

For example: "I was going to spend the day at home but I've decided to go on a trip."

3- with 'wonder', to make a very polite request:

For example: "I was wondering if you could baby-sit for me tonight."

    More examples:

    a. They were waiting for the bus when the accident happened.
    b. Mohammed was playing when he broke his leg.
    c. When we arrived he was having a bath.
    d. When the fire started I was watching TV.

[blink]NOTE:[/blink] When you are using a verb tense with more than one part such as Past Continuous (was picking), adverbs often come between the first part and the second part (was carefully picking).

I was carefully picking up the snake when it bit me.

I hope it is still easy for you, and you can distinguish among them all. :114:

If you have any question, just ask ahead and I will be there to answer you.. :101:

    Have a great night. :24:

[blink]Dear Students,[/blink] are you ready for the exam? I think yes, because the previous lessons were very easy, no? :114:
Our first exam will be Inshallah on Monday from 4pm until 11:30pm. I am sure most of you will be able to be there at that time. :101:

    Excellent المتأمله !!
You don't need to worry sister, according to your level in English, Masha'a Allah your answers were great :101:

but you only have some mistakes which you can simply avoid in the future Inshallah.. :101:

    1) Question 2, part B:
I am writer a letter to my friend.
    -
    writer - writing - wrote - written

Correct: I am writing a letter to my friend.

    2) Question 3, part A:
Iam visit in my friends yesterday.

Correct: I visited my friends yesterday.

    3) Question 3, part B:

They are watched the soccer game at last night.

Correct: They were watching the soccer game last night.

    4) Question 3, part D:

Sara run off quickly to the phone when her father is called

Correct: Sara was quickly running to the phone when her father called.

Both answers are correct, but I wanted you to do the one which I've given you. the Adverb comes between WAS and RUNNING.

I am glad because you tried to change the sentence.. It was a nice try sister.. :101:

    [blink]SCORE: You've got 11 out of 15.[/blink]

    Well done sister..

    ================================================== ==========================================

    [blink]afageeh[/blink]

    Excellent job dude!

    But you've only 1 mistake:

    4) Question 3, part D:

Sara was running quickly to the phone when her father called.

Correct: Sara was quickly running to the phone when her father called.

    [blink]SCORE: 14 out of 15.[/blink]

    Excellent! :24:

    ================================================== =============================================

    [blink]RMQ! [/blink]

Fantastic! you knew how to skip the trick & get the full mark..

I am so proud of you dear.. :113:

    SCORE: 15 out of 15.

I could say no more! BUT, Keep it up man! :24:

    ================================================== ================================================== ===================

    [blink]الدار[/blink]

    Hi there!

    Your marks are really great..

Umm... I confused with the first part of Question 3, "I was visiting my friends yesterday". I might consider it wrong because we need the clause "when" if we want to use [WAS + VERB + ING] as we studied before.. :101:

Also, you've made the same mistake that your colleagues had fallen in in Question 3, part D. I will ask you to go to the previous answer of your colleague and have a look at the correction.. please. :106:

    [blink]SCORE: 13,5 out of 15.[/blink]

    That's gorgeous! :x1:

    ================================================== ====================================

    [blink]راصد المنتدى[/blink]

Thats's awesome! but you made a mistake which you should never miss, because it's very easy and noticeable!:

They are watched the soccer game at last night.

Correct: They were watching the soccer game last night.

[were + verb + ing] you remember!?

    [blink]SCORE: 14 out of 15.[/blink]

Eh! so brilliant my friend.. :113:

    ================================================== ===================

    [blink]قمر موتوا قهر ..[/blink]

    Fine, excellent sister!

Your answers were completely correct, you've got the full mark..

    [blink]SCORE: 15 out of 15.[/blink]

    Well-done .. keep it up .. :113:

You've written the pronoun "they" with the letter A, "THAY" & that's wrong .. be careful next time dear ..:24:

    ================================================== ================

    [blink]Rima..[/blink]

Your performance was so great sister .. I am so happy for you ..

but also you've made the same mistake that your colleagues had fallen in in Question 3, part D. I will ask you to go to the previous corrected-answers of your colleagues and have a look at the correction.. please. :106:

    [blink]SCORE: 14 out of 15.[/blink]

    Excellent! :x1:

If you want to object, please feel free to discuss your answers with me.. I will be so happy to answer your questions.. :101: ..

NOTE: When you are using a verb tense with more than one part such as Past Continuous (was picking), adverbs often come between the first part and the second part (was carefully picking).

    [blink]Lesson Number 5[/blink]

    Hi again everybody..

Some students asked me for a lesson of vocabulary and that's really interesting. :101:
There is more than one way to teach vocabulary. I was really mystified with which way I am going to present such a lesson? :114: . I didn't want to confuse you by giving you unrelated vocabulary which will absolutely get you lost. Hence, I will show you my way in introducing vocabulary, if you would like me to continue with the same way, that's fine. If you want me to change or you have a specific way, then please tell me so that I can change it for you. My way is that to choose one part of this life and give you its vocabulary.
