Below are weblinks to the information you need to investigate and apply for graduate studies at the University of Toronto (U of T). Everything is online, including the application forms.
The International Student Centre is not an academic facility, and we do not handle admissions, distribute admissions materials or answer admissions questions.
"Who handles admissions?"
All graduate admissions are handled by the School of Graduate Studies (SGS) and the department, faculty or school in which you wish to study (the "graduate unit"). The SGS sets minimum admission requirements, so one of your application forms will go to the SGS. However, it is the graduate unit that sets the specific admission requirements, application procedures and application deadlines, and you will send your forms and other documents to the graduate unit. Address questions about deadlines, forms, documents, specific requirements and specific admission procedures to your chosen graduate unit. Contact the graduate coordinator, graduate secretary or graduate advisor for the unit.
"Where do I start?"
An excellent starting point on the web is the University of Toronto's main site: http://www.utoronto.ca. From there, click on "Prospective Students," and then sign on to "myfUTure." This will lead you toward all the information you need about your intended course of study, admission requirements, fees, scholarships and more.
The School of Graduate Studies' website is . Click on "Prospective Students" and you'll find the information you need. You'll see links for the SGS Calendar, Admissions Guide, Programs & Fields of Study, Minimum Requirements (and International Degree *****alencies), Fees, Financial Support, Housing and more.
"How do I find the 'graduate units'?
The SGS site will give you links to the graduate units in its list of "Programs & Fields of Study" (http://www.sgs.utoronto.ca/prospective/programs/).
(You can also get a list of U of T websites (departments, faculties, schools, offices), by going to http://link.library.utoronto.ca/uoft...t_websites.cfm. This gives you an alphabetical list of departments, faculties and schools listed by department name. For 'engineering,' look under 'A' for "Applied Science and Engineering, Faculty of.")
"What if I don't meet the minimum requirements for admission?"
If you do not meet the minimum requirements for admission, you will need to do upgrading until you meet those requirements.
"How do I prove my facility in English?"
For information on English language requirements, please see http://www.sgs.utoronto.ca/prospecti...on/english.asp.
"How much will it cost me to study at U of T?"

The School of Graduate Studies Calendar:
A university calendar is a handbook giving information about programs and courses offered by a faculty, along with other information about faculty requirements and degree regulations. The School of Graduate Studies calendar is available online. (http://www.sgs.utoronto.ca/current/calendar/). If you want a calendar mailed to you, you need to send a money order payable to "The University of Toronto" (for CDN $14 if you live in the U.S., and for CDN $22 if you live in countries other than Canada or the U.S.), and mail it, and your request for a graduate calendar, to "The School of Graduate Studies, University of Toronto, 63 St. George Street, Toronto, Ontario, Canada, M5S 2Z9."

Q: If the International Student Centre is not an academic department, what does it do?
A: The International Student Centre (ISC) provides information and services to international students before they come and while they're here. Among other things, we provide information and advice on applying for a study permit and entry visa, on the University Health Insurance Program, on living and studying in Toronto (and how to prepare for life here), on housing/residence, and on whether and where international students may work in Canada. We also provide services, including counselling, a buddy program, social activities, and English conversation practice.
